Project description

This project is a Northern European network of actors within elearning, which supports the quality development of e-learning methods and content within the vocational sectors in education. The approach of the project is intercultural, which means that all activities are carried out in intercultural teams to enhance the dissemination of the products across the Northern countries and beyond. The project partners from different educational levels with similar vocational interests bring synergy to the project and its approach for better quality in e-Learning.

The timeline of the project: starting September 2008, closing August 2011.

What problems is the project going to solve?

  • We are not aware of the best practices in various educational institutions, who already apply e-Learning methods in vocational teaching and learning
  • We do not have enough knowledge of the technical solutions which could be applied in education
  • We lack the efficient means of disseminating existing good quality material
  • We are not clearly aware of the readiness of the teachers to apply e-Learning methods in their teaching

The objectives are: 1.to compare the use of different learning platforms or gadgets, such as mobile devices and satellites in pedagogical use 2.to produce digital learning modules for vocational education in the field of intercultural communication, tourism, health care and sustainable development for secondary and tertiary and adult education 3.To pilot the created course modules in all participating countries, whereafter the final versions will be documented 4.to study the teachers’ capacity/willingness to implement e-Learning in their teaching, and to chart the ICT readiness of the teachers as well as the challenges of working in the digital environments
